• What do I need to do in preparation of my new install?Answer: If I am not taking down your previous install, I ask that you come with your hair freshly washed and preferrably air-dried. If you prefer not to air dry, do not blowdry super straight. Having the hair in a coarse texture state makes it easier for braiding. All you will need to bring with you on the day of your install is your hair.
  • Do you supply the hair?Answer: It would be almost impossible for me to guess what type, texture, style and color hair you may want. I usually have a phone (or in person) consultation with you and at that time decide along with you what would be best suited for your needs.
  • What is the "best" hair to buy?Answer: With so many different brands of hair on the market today, it's very easy to get perplexed as to what is considered "good hair". Again, I would consult with you and get a basic idea of your lifestyle (i.e., do you workout? do you want minimal styling on your end?, etc.) to determine what hair would be best. I have clients that buy all ranges of hair ... from the most expensive to synthetic. I can only suggest what I think would work best after speaking/meeting with you.   • How much hair do I need?Answer: For a full sew-in you will need two packs (8 oz.) of hair. I generally use 1 1/2 packs. If you want a more fuller look, you may need to purchase 3 packs (12 oz.).
  • How long does the weave last?Answer: This is a trick question. Most people believe the more expensive a weave is, the longer it will last. FALSE. You have to maintain a weave just as if it was your own hair. With the proper maintenance, a good sew-in weave should last you anywhere from 6-8 weeks (with a recommended touch-up after week 4). Some can last as long as 3 months - this goes back to Question #2 in terms of hair quality.
  • How long does the "weaving process" take?Answer: Typically, you can expect to be in my chair anywhere from 2 - 2 1/2 hours. This timeframe can (and does) vary from one person to the next depending on styling, head size, etc.
  • Can I wash my weave?Answer: You can definitely wash your weave but you want to make sure you don't rub your weave vigorously as if you were washing your own hair as this will cause your weave to tangle and matt. You need to make sure that you detangle your hair by applying a detangler (or diluted conditioner). Make sure you start from the ends and work your way up to prevent breakage. After your hair is completely tangle-free, apply a mild shampoo to your hair AND scalp. Gently massage your scalp allowing your fingertips to penetrate your tracks and remove any dirt and oil. Rinse thoroughly. Apply a conditioner for added shine and rinse accordingly. Take a dry towel and pat dry. DO NOT RUB as this will cause your hair to tangle. For synthetic hair, allow hair to air dry before going to bed. For human hair, hair can either be air dried or blow dried on low heat. DO NOT SLEEP ON WET HAIR.
  • How do I care for my weave for day/night?Answer: There are different ways people like to care for their newly sewn-in hair. Your hairstyle and texture have alot to do with how you will upkeep the hair once it's installed. For basic straight styles, it's best to wrap the hair at night and tie a silk scarf on. For curl/wave styles, a silk bonnet will help protect your weave from frizzing up and dryness. Upon the completion of your install, I will recommend to you what may work for your particular style and also recommend what products you may want to use.
  • How do you "maintain" or "touch-up" a weave?Answer: I maintain my clients weaves by replacing/tightening tracks that may have loosened or that need replacing due to dullness, etc. My sew-ins do not unravel - It's the natural growth of your own hair that loosens the tracks.

I confirm appointments via email OR phone at least 48 hours before your appointment date/time.

If for any reason you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, I ask that you call or send me an email in a timely manner (at least 48 hours). Most times, I have clients that want to get in sooner than their scheduled appointment time and if an appointment is a no call/no show, it's not only discourteous, but it makes my time stagnant.

If you will be more than 1 hour late for an appointment, I will have to reschedule you if I have an appointment immediately following your scheduled appointment. If I am running behind on a client, I will call you to let you know. I make every effort possible to keep your wait time to no more than 15 minutes.
